LLOYD AND WILLIAMS RESUME ELECTRIC RALLY CUP SCHEDULE

Ioan Lloyd and Sion Williams will resume their challenge in the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup in round four of the season, the ADAC Rally Stemweder in Germany this weekend (September 25-26).
Lloyd, 23-years old from Llandysul in West Wales, and his co-driver Williams from North Wales are competing in the all-electric seven-round rally championship in their Vauxhall UK Mokka GSE Rally and currently lie second overall in the points, just three points behind Frenchman Tom Dufour and 16 points ahead of German driver Timo Schulz.
After a summer break, the final four rounds of the season come in just two months with two rallies in Germany and events in Italy and Belgium. This weekend’s Rally Stemweder is based in Lubbecke in Northern Germany.
The postponement of the Saarland Rally from its planned date in August to late October following a risk of wild fires during the heat of the summer means that it is two months since Lloyd was at the wheel of his Mokka GSE Rally. However, the chance to compete in a Corsa Rally4 on Rali Ceredigion, his home round of the European Rally Championship, means that Ioan is ready to go again.
Lloyd, who finished second in the Rally4 category in Wales, said: “It was good to get seat time in what turned out to be quite a gap in the Opel Electric Rally Cup calendar. I’m really looking forward to Rally Stemweder. It's our first time competing in Germany and I think the special stages might have a bit of a feel of Belgium in their nature.
“It's a really close race in the championship, which is good and keeps the pressure on. I'd say the battle will be very close because there's not so much chance to make up time. It's an important time in the season now and Tom Dufour is our main focus at the minute. We need to make sure we score strongly this weekend.
“Then we’ve got the Saarland Rally slotted back into the championship at the end of October, so we're going to have a busy schedule from now until Rally Spa at the end of November.”
